Fisherman's Stew ================ Ingredients ----------- * 3/4 teaspoon Salt * 2 pounds Fish * 1/2 cup Olive Oil * 2 large Onions, sliced * 2 1/3 cups Tomatoes (20oz or so) * 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper * 1 1/2 cup water * 1 can (8oz) of tomato sauce * Salt and Pepper to taste * French/Italian Bread Instructions ------------ #. Make a sauce by browning the onions on medium/medium-low in olive oil in a deep pot (Takes about 30 minutes). #. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper, and water. #. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes. #. Add the fish and continue to simmer until fish is cooked. #. Serve in deep plates over French/Italian bread Serves: Makes 4 servings Notes ----- * Whole small fish of any type can be used. (Cod, Haddock, Tilapia) * Have heard Catfish works excellently. Have not tried yet. * Original Recipe calls for 1/2 cup white wine, 1/2 cup parsley. * Original Recipe recommends salting the fish for a few hours. * Use a little white sugar to round out the flavor of the stew Additional Links ----------------
