Firecracker Chicken

Ingredients

Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Other:
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs
  • Rice to serve with dish

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In sparate bowls, place cornstarch and slightly beaten eggs. Dip chicken into cornstarch, then into egg mixture.
  3. Heat canola oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat. Cook chicken until browned.
  4. Meanwhile, in a medium sized mixing bowl, combine all of the sauce ingredients. Pour over browned chicken and cook until the sauce starts to thicken.
  5. Serve with rice.

Serves: Original recipe yields 6 servings

Notes

  • Try using the General Tsao Chicken method for frying the chicken instead.
