Firecracker Chicken¶
Ingredients¶
- Sauce:
- 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
- 1 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Other:
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 large eggs
- Rice to serve with dish
Instructions¶
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- In sparate bowls, place cornstarch and slightly beaten eggs. Dip chicken into cornstarch, then into egg mixture.
- Heat canola oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat. Cook chicken until browned.
- Meanwhile, in a medium sized mixing bowl, combine all of the sauce ingredients. Pour over browned chicken and cook until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Serve with rice.
Serves: Original recipe yields 6 servings
Notes¶
- Try using the General Tsao Chicken method for frying the chicken instead.
