Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked macaroni noodles
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Melt together 1/4 c. butter, 1/4 c. flour, a dash of salt and pepper, 1 tsp dry mustard in saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth. Very gradually add 2 c. milk while stirring.
  2. Stir in until melted and blended 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese. Reccomend increasing heat to medium.
  3. Pour into casserole dish with cooked macaroni. Add 1/2 c. shredded cheese to top, sprinkle seasoned bread crumbs atop as well.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden at 375.

Serves: 4

Notes

  • Add approx 1 c. diced ham
  • Mix cheddar and swiss cheeses
