Kung Pao Chicken¶
Ingredients¶
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- Dash of hot sauce
Chicken:
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts - cubed
- 1 Tbsp. beer
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
The rest:
- 2 - 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp. sesame or vegetable oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup cashews (optional)
- Rice to serve over
Instructions¶
- Mix all stuff in chicken section together
- Heat oil in wok, then add ginger and garlic
- Cook for 15 seconds before adding chicken mixture
- Cook chicken until done, then push to outer edges of wok
- Mix sauce Ingredients together and to middle of wok
- Stir until it begins to thicken and bubble
- Add onions and nuts (if desired) to wok and cook until onion softens
- Serve over rice
Serves: 4 - 6
